Short presentation of the programme:

The programme is practice-oriented in the field of web-based applications. The instruction is carried out in several main areas, namely web-based access to databases, client-server architecture applications communicating through the web environment and electronic business. The content and structure of the courses reflect the latest trends in the development of internet based technologies. The training sessions use the latest versions of leading software products and development environments. The program is used with the special support of Oracle Academic, offering international certification of students under preferential conditions. The courses include Software Architecture (Institute For Software Research Course at Carnegie Mellon University), Internet Computer Security, Internet Scripting Languages, Multimedia Internet Applications, Pl/SQL, .Net and JEE Programming, Java Programming, Electronic Business, Global Networks. The training courses include assignments, projects, internship. There is a preparatory module for applicants who hold degrees in other professional areas.

The students are provided with placements in the NBU computer laboratories and internships in companies in the field of software production and information provision.

Graduate Student Competencies:

Graduates will have mastered knowledge and skills in:

• structure and principles of functioning of the global world network, the Internet;

• principles of client - server technology;

• main technological tools for developing Internet applications;

• administration of independent local and global networks;

• formulation of assignments for Internet-based software projects;

• Internet applications and Internet-based information systems development independently and in a team;

• management of small software projects.

Graduation:

Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.

The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.

Occupation and possible positions:

Graduates pursue careers in software production and in the field of information provision of companies, public and state institutions.
