Short presentation of the programme:
The programme is research-based and provides instruction in the latest methods and theoretical achievements of modern archaeology. There are three specialisations, namely Prehistory, Ancient Archaeology and Medieval Archaeology. There is a preparatory module for degree holders in other fields.

Practical training courses:
The programme comprises field visits, drilling surveys, archaeological excavations, processing of archaeological collections, placements in archaeological and historical museums.
International mobility:
The programme provides an opportunity for international student mobility at universities in Durham, Great Britain; University of Liege, Belgium; Jagiellonian University, Poland; Istanbul University, Turkey; Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi, Romania.
Graduate Student Competencies:
Graduates will have mastered knowledge and skills in:
• conducting archaeological field research and desk research, and to know and apply the principles of interdisciplinary research;
• working as experts in the state and municipal administration, museums and galleries;
• promoting archaeological monuments in the field of cultural tourism and advertising;
• searching, classifying and publishing archaeological information in electronic form.
Graduation:
Completion of studies in the bachelor's programme takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.
The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.
Occupation and possible positions:
Graduates pursue careers as experts in scientific research centres; national and regional archaeological and historical museums; in the field of cultural heritage promotion.
