Linguodidactics (in Bulgarian and a foreign language)

Short presentation of the programme:

The programme prepares philologists who teach foreign languages. It examines modern applied-linguistic and linguistic-didactic theories and their practical application to learning and teaching foreign languages. The students develop the required professional and intercultural competences and build the necessary knowledge and skills for professional improvement, critical attitude towards teaching and adaptability to the labour market. They master research skills that enable them to participate in the implementation of scientific projects and apply their outcomes in practice.

The programme is suitable for holders of bachelor's degree in philology with the respective foreign language and holders of bachelor’s degrees in other professional areas to whom an obligatory preparatory module comprising philological subjects in a foreign language is provided.

To fully implement the practical and research tasks in the course of study, an admission requirement is to certify the proficiency in a foreign language either by a bachelor's degree in the relevant philological specialty, by an internationally recognised certificate at C1 of CEFR or by taking a test during the admission interview followed by a C1 exam at NBU. There is a possibility of refreshing and developing foreign language skills by enrolling in NBU courses.
