Practical training courses:

Practical training includes various activities at NBU, such as developing projects on implementating a sustainable product or service, as well as internships in economic and/or financial institutions.

International mobility:

Sustainability and Corporate Development students have the opportunity to carry out student mobility under the Erasmus+ program at universities in Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Latvia, Romania, Greece and Turkey that have bilateral Erasmus agreements with NBU, and participate in various transnational initiatives within the framework of the European Alliance of Reformed Universities (ERUA).

Graduate Student Competencies:

- understand in depth the cause-and-effect relationships related to the need to change the economic model and to be able to successfully apply sustainable management tools to increase the competitiveness of the organisation;

- critically assess the state, dynamics and trends in economic development witrh view to global trends and climate changes and acquire skills to make adequate and timely management decisions;

- analyse the state, trends and perspectives of Bulgarian companies and Bulgarian economy and justify their views on improvement;

- use the latest methods of strategic analysis and quantitative and qualitative assessment of the functioning of business organisations in the modern environment;

- generate innovative economic ideas and creatively use interdisciplinary approaches and tools to solve business cases in dynamically changing conditions;

- participate in the preparation of ESG reports and strategies for sustainable growth;

- successfully and responsibly communicate all processes at the organisation level related to the topic of sustainability and ESG.

Graduation:

Completion of studies in the bachelor's programme takes place by defending a bachelor's dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.

Occupation and possible positions:

Sustainable development is deeply integrated in every unit at the organisation, therefore Sustainability and Corporate Development graduates will have a diverse and broad-spectrum of opportunities to pursue careers, meeting the specific requirements for occupying positions at senior and middle management levels in state and local government administration and in companies with both international and local activities, as well as in NGOs.

Graduates who earned master's degrees are suitable for the relatively new position of sustainable development managers. Also, they will have the necessary qualifications to work in international economic, commercial and financial institutions, as well as in multinational companies, the opportunity to become experts in a number of areas of sustainable development, green marketing, as independent entrepreneurs or ESG consultants. The acquired knowledge and skills also meet the requirements for pursuing careers in the EU institutions.
