Advertising Management and Visual Branding (in Bulgarian)
Short presentation of the programme:
The programme aims to provide the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge on the management of the advertising process from the points of view of its participants, e.g. advertisers, advertising agencies, media and consumers. The programme focuses on advertising agency practical skills, its role and functions in the development of integrated corporate communications. Since advertising agencies need to offer not only well-planned advertising campaigns and creative ideas, but integrated communication solutions, the programme aims to develop skills to integrate advertising with alternative forms of corporate communication, incl. non-traditional approaches, to integrate the creative process into the management of communication channels, their interdependence and complementarity, and to build and manage brands.
The lecturers have extensive practical experience and theoretical knowledge in the advertising process management as advertisers, advertising agencies and media. Thus, there are excellent opportunities for the students not only to gain the necessary theoretical knowledge, but also to apply the theory in practice. To this end, there is a variety of training seminars with the participation of leading professionals in the field.
The programme partners include the Bulgarian Association of Advertisers, the Bulgarian Association of Communication Agencies and the European Institute for Commercial Communications Education. Every year, the students have the opportunity to participate free of charge in a number of additional practical trainings, such as Google Certification Academy, Advertising Academy at the Bulgarian Association of Communication Agencies and Bulgarian Association of Advertisers, Advertising Forum, etc. where they get in contact with business representatives. If necessary, the programme offers a preparatory module for applicants who hold degrees in other professional areas.

Practical training courses:
Within the framework of the programme, Advertising Academy (www.reklamnaakademia.com), a one-week placement is held every year. During the placement, students participate in developing a communication campaign based on a real-life case study and under the mentorship of professionals in the field. The programme provides internships with the Bulgarian Association of Advertisers, Bulgarian Association of Communication Agencies and other organisations and companies in the field of advertising. The programme validates work experience with advertisers, communications agencies and media.
International mobility:
The programme provides an opportunity for international student mobility at universities in Italy, France, Greece, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Finland, Turkey, Spain and the Netherlands. Students have opportunities to participate in a number of initiatives (intensive courses, lectures, travelling seminars) organised by the international alliance ERUA.
Graduate Student Competencies:
Graduates of the programme will have mastered knowledge of:
• theory and practice of advertising communication and building integrated advertising campaigns;
• specific processes of creating an advertising campaign, successfully organising and managing them;
• work of advertising agencies and the media (in its capacity as an advertising medium), as well as the specifics of the work of the brand management departments.
Graduation:
Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.
The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.
Occupation and possible positions:
Graduates in Advertising Management and Visual Branding will be able to pursue careers in the field of advertising in various positions (including managerial), advertising agencies, advertising departments of brands and the media as brand managers, advertising managers, marketing communications managers, etc.
