International Relations and Public Administration (in French)

Short presentation of the programme:

The Francophone master's degree programme in international relations and public administration was developed jointly with several prestigious universities in France, Belgium and Canada. The faculty includes representatives from different countries. There is an option for one-semester studies with a scholarship at Francophone universities. It prepares for professional realisation in the field of international organisations, public administration, political institutions and the media. The course of study comprises courses in European Programmes and Policies, Bulgarian Migration Policy and International Migrations, Regional Dimensions of International Cooperation, International Security and Geopolitical Analysis. The training courses include individual work and projects. The instruction is at a high professional level in French and is in compliance with both French and Bulgarian educational standards.

The programme provides an opportunity for international student mobility at universities in in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Cyprus, Germany, Greece and Turkey.

Graduate Student Competencies:

Graduates will have mastered the following competencies:

• knowledge of the mechanisms of the political process, its actors and the interactions between them;

• knowledge of the resources and principles of public management;

• knowledge of the tools for initiating, developing and evaluating public policies;

• knowledge of the resources of the EU programmes;

• knowledge how to analyse political situations and develop and make adequate decisions.

Graduation:

Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.

The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.

Occupation and possible positions:

Graduates pursue careers in:

• foreign policy and international institutions;

• structures involved in Bulgaria's policy in the EU and NATO;

• international departments of various mass media.
