Short presentation of the programme:

The programme focuses on European governance and economic diplomacy of the EU. The course of study comprises courses in Political Development, Economic and Institutional Management, EU Budgeting and Law, International Financial System Management, Regional and Foreign Policy, EU Diplomacy, Global Governance and the Political Process. The training courses include projects and research on European integration and public policies, European foreign policy and security policy.

Practical training courses:

The programme provides internships in state institutions, local authorities, non-governmental organisations, etc.

International mobility:

The programme was designed thanks to consultation and collaboration within the Jean Monnet network and offers mobility in collaboration within the network as well as with similar programmes at Western European universities.

At the moment, the programme has concluded student exchange agreements with the following universities:

University of Cyprus;

University of Wroclaw, Poland;

Tor Vergata University in Rome, Italy;

University of Messina, Italy;

University of Malta;

University of Marseille, France;

Free University of Brussels, Belgium;

University of Brescia, Italy.

Graduate Student Competencies:

Graduates will have mastered knowledge and skills in:

• EU institutional structure;

• EU political structure;

• EU mechanisms of economic policy management;

• EU institutional model and functioning of the general policies;

• EU mechanisms for protecting the political, economic and financial interests;

• EU foreign policy and economic diplomacy;

• the place and role of Bulgaria and the European Union in the changing world.

Graduation:

Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.

The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.

Occupation and possible positions:

Graduates pursue careers in institutions of the European Union, Bulgarian state institutions, state and local administration, media, non-governmental organisations, consulting organisations and structures, etc.
