Practical training courses:

The programme is designed in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main parameters of the mutual commitments are specified in a cooperation agreement signed with the Diplomatic Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Graduate Student Competencies:

Graduates will have gained knowledge in the field of:

• diplomacy and international relations, foreign policy, regional policy, migration policy, security policy;

• current state and evolution of international organisations and initiatives;

• modern foreign policy of Bulgaria and other countries;

• different aspects of international politics - politics and economy, security, conflict regulation, ethnic, religious and migration dimensions of international relations.

They will have mastered skills in:

• implementing diplomatic practice in the modern foreign policy of Bulgaria and international relations;

• conducting negotiations and resolving conflicts;

• foreign policy planning and forecasting;

• preparing foreign policy analyses and forecasts on current problems;

• solving research, expert and practical foreign policy tasks;

• working with diplomatic documents;

• analytical and expert work in media.

Graduation:

Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.

The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.

Occupation and possible positions:

Graduates pursue careers in foreign policy and international institutions, structures involved in the politics of Bulgaria in the EU and NATO, and international departments of various mass media.
