Short presentation of the programme:

The programme deals with the modern world of telecommunications and computer networks and systems, technologies and services. It encompasses one of the most promising areas for professional development and innovation. The course of study highlights several fields of telecommunications, namely telecommunications and computer networks and systems, mobile cellular networks, radio and television broadcasting networks, telecommunications operators and services, digital audio and video content distribution platforms, professional digital audio-visual production and sound recording systems and software, issues of ethics and elegance of AI in digital services and ergonomics of the digital workplace, digital production and service centre architecture and design, software and network operating systems, data centres construction and management, installation and maintenance of web platforms and services, network infrastructure monitoring and management, computer and communication security, system and network administration and reliability of communication and information infrastructure and services, business planning and marketing of digital services, licensing, regulation and management of electronic media, radio and television, innovation and implementation of technological and infrastructure projects in information and telecommunication technologies, electromagnetic compatibility and safety in electromagnetic radiations, legal framework and standards in telecommunications and computer systems.

Practical training courses:

The programme providesplacements and internships in external organisations such as national mobile and radio-television operators, international outsourcing companies, Internet providers, manufacturers of telecommunication systems and equipment, as well as in the academic environment of NBU: the television studio and telecommunications laboratory of NBU.

The internships cover activities such as installation and construction of telecommunication and computer networks, construction of radio communication facilities, system and network administration of networks and systems, computer and communication security, maintenance of the communication and information infrastructure and services, radio and television management, participation in student projects.

The programme provides an upgrading semester for holders of professional bachelor’s degree.

Graduation:

Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.

The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.

Occupation and possible positions:

• enterprises in the field of computer and telecommunication technologies;

• development and servicing of corporate information and telecommunication networks and systems;

• non-governmental sector of telecommunications, ministries, agencies and other companies and organisations.
