Fashion, Styling and Business Strategies (in Bulgarian)

Short presentation of the programme:

The programme offers a unique combination of theoretical and practical studies in the field of fashion design, successfully combining lecture courses emphasising creativity and business-oriented courses. It combines trend forecasting creativity and in-depth knowledge with fashion brand style and visual communication analysis and interpretation. The knowledge and skills acquired in the course of study enable graduates to work and implement their projects not only as designers, but also as marketing and management specialists in the fashion industry. After completing the course of study, the students are able to use the knowledge and skills in the fashion business and formulate unique fashion communication concepts. The programme comprises lecture courses in Apparel and Textile Design, Construction, Technology and Modeling, Media and Advertising, Marketing Strategies and Fashion Merchandising, as well as courses in Fashion Styling, Styling, Trend Forecasting, Colour Analysis, Fashion Photography, etc., taught by prominent practitioners. The aim of the programme is to create style and image experts who can function in various fashion contexts. The programme offers a preparatory module for degree holders in other fields.

Graduate Student Competencies:

Graduates in Fashion and Business Strategies will have mastered systematic and in-depth knowledge and skills in:

• designing and creating a complete fashion product;

• various methods of construction and clothing technology;

• presenting fashion products through various visual means: fashion sketches, computer graphics, advertising and communication strategies;

• designing and producing textile and knitted products;

• marketing, management and merchandising in the fashion business;

• creating and developing a fashion brand;

• working with state-of-the-asrt computer systems in the field of design, construction and grading of clothing;

• researching fashion trends and forecasting in fashion.

• creating an advertising idea and advertising strategies in the fashion industry;

• presenting a fashion product through various visual means;

• building an idea of a fashion image with the means of photography;

• creating a visual idea of fashion clothes in commercial establishments;

• creating ideas for fashion magazines, blogs, etc.

Graduation:

Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.

The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.

Occupation and possible positions:

Graduates in Fashion Design pursue careers as designers of men's, women's and children's clothing, stylists, fashion journalists, constructors, technologists; managers and merchandisers in the fashion business.

Graduates in Fashion Styling pursue careers as stylists, fashion consultants, fashion editors, critics, bloggers, exhibition designers of clothing, textiles and accessories, art directors, etc.
