Public Management (in English)
Short presentation of the programme:
The programme was designed to develop competencies in the field of public management at national, regional and local levels. It aims to impart knowledge on the legal framework, information provision and institutional interaction in implementing standards, projects and programmes for public management.

Graduate Student Competencies:
Graduates will have mastered knowledge on:
• matching between public expectations and the management of public processes;
• Bulgarian and European legal system in the field of public management;
• specifics of the implementation of electronic governance at the international, national, regional and local level;
• organisation of the decision-making process and their implementation, including the potential risks arising from them;
• managing political and financial processes;
Graduates will have mastered skills in:
• developing, implementing, evaluating and controlling of national and international policies, as well as strategic documents for the provision of public services;
• creating strategies, structures, projects and programs for public management and development;
• developing creative, technical and professional management qualities necessary for management and leadership positions in national and international services and agencies, as well as in non-profit organisations.
Graduation:
Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits. The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.
Occupation and possible positions:
Graduates pursue careers in central, regional and local government structures, non-governmental organisations and businesses, developing activities in the creation and implementation of strategies, structures, projects and programmes for public management.
