Illustration and Graphic Technologies (in Bulgarian)
Short presentation of the programme:
The programme is professionally oriented in the field of illustration and graphic technologies. The training comprises various letterpress and intaglio graphic techniques, including a special technique, mezzotinto. The Illustration and Graphic Technologies Studio provides the students with the facilities and tools to launch their graphic projects. The instruction comprises courses in graphics and courses in print graphic layout, techniques and styles in illustration and design, as well as digital illustration. In the course of their studies, the students have the opportunity to work on real-life projects, as well as to have practices and internships. The training courses include independent student work on creative projects. The programme offers a preparatory module for degree holders in other educational fields.

The programme provides placements and internships in the NBU specially equipped studios and external organisations under contracts.
International mobility:
Erasmus+ contracts with art academies in France, the Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, Russia and Romania.
Graduate Student Competencies:
Graduates will have mastered knowledge in the field of the history of graphics as a genre in fine art, become familiar with the historical basis and tools of individual graphic techniques, able to creatively apply modern and classical graphic and illustrative techniques in their works, graphically design a printed publication: a book, magazine, comic, etc., able to convincingly present a visual/creative product/project.
Graduation:
Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.
The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.
Occupation and possible positions:
Graduates pursue careers as freelance artists (graphic artists, illustrators, graphic designers), employees in publishing houses, advertising agencies, printing houses, graphic design studios.
