Directing Animation (in Bulgarian)
Short presentation of the programme:
The programme presents animation as a visual graphic synthesis between caricature, comic, grotesque, poster, illustration and small sculpture. There is a video exchange with foreign higher schools and animation academies, including a selection of their most popular films and authors. The instruction comprises courses in Animation Directing, Editing and Screenwriting, Game Design Fundamentals, Computer 2D and 3D Graphics. The training courses include projects, individual assignments and an internship.

Practical training courses:
The programme has active contacts and finds opportunities for creative realization with production studios (Cool Film, National Film Centre, Georgi Cholakov Studio, etc.)
International mobility:
The programme provides an opportunity for international student mobility at universities in in Italy (Brera in Milan), France (Nasi), Finland, Turkey (Istanbul and Canakkale), Greece (Thessalonica - Aristotle University), Spain and the Netherlands.
Graduate Student Competencies:
Graduates will have mastered knowledge and skills in:
• production of animated films in the field of classic, three-dimensional, computer and commercial animation, cutouts, commercials;
• in the field of animation trick technique, mixed animation genres, blue screen and film effects;
• carrying out an in-depth analysis of an author's films in a cinematic plan, considering the totality of the film components as a complete artistic-aesthetic whole producing each individual film.
Graduation:
Completion of studies takes place by defending a master’s dissertation or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits.
The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.
Occupation and possible positions:
Graduates pursue careers in advertising, film and television.
