Short presentation of the programme:

In the first two years, the instruction in the programme focuses on general education courses, two-semester courses in the main areas of study, such as State and Public Administration, Introduction to Law, Society, Economics and Business, Evolution of Administrative Ideas and Systems, Welfare and Consumer Behaviour, and practical courses, such as Economic Theories and Experimental Economics, Introduction to Business Administration, Introduction to Public Administration, EU Policies, etc. In the third and fourth years, the instruction consists of two modules, i.e. State and Local Administration and European Public Administration, which comprise lecture and training courses which lead to a professional qualification.

Practical training courses:

The program provides students with practical internships in the administrations of the Council of Ministers, the National Assembly, ministries and agencies, regional and municipal administrations, as well as in organizations from the non-governmental sector.

International mobility:

The program provides opportunities for international student mobility with universities in Austria, Germany, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Finland, France, Georgia. Also, students have the opportunity to participate in various transnational initiatives within the framework of the European Reform Universities Alliance (ERUA), of which NBU is a part.

Graduate Student Competencies:

o know and apply the management systems of the activities carried out by the administration;

o have the organizational skills to plan, prepare and implement national and international projects in a European administrative environment;

o are proficient in modern information technologies and are able to apply them in their activities.

o have the ability to communicate positively and constructively with their professional community and with the clients of public services;

o have business acumen, competence and leadership skills in protecting the public interest;

o adopt the attitude for career development based on continuous improvement of administrative competence.

Occupation and possible positions:

Successful graduates of the Bachelor's program "Public Administration" at NBU acquire the educational and qualification degree "Bachelor" in the specialty "Public Administration" can:

- practice professions in accordance with the acquired higher education and professional qualification - administrative manager;

- continue their education in subsequent educational and qualification degrees;

- participate in various forms of continuing education throughout life.

Graduates of the program can work as:

• experts in European administrative structures;

• experts in national state, regional or municipal administrations;

• experts in international and national non-governmental organizations;

• experts in the private sector, etc.
