Graduate Student Competencies:
The bachelor's degree programme Theatre provides professional training in acting and dance art, a starting point to the stage and traditional professional performances of actors and dancers in the theatre, radio, cinema and television. Through a series of interdisciplinary courses, the programme prepares and teaches in students a basic set of knowledge, skills, strategies of behaviour and thinking, which is also the basis of other professions related to drama and dance theatre: actors, dancers, directors and choreographers, scenographers, playwrights, theatre managers, theatre troupes and NGOs. The skills and competences of these professions are taught in a specialised and upgradeable form in the Master's programme of the Theatre Department.
The course of study in the bachelor's programme Theatre is four years and a graduation requirement is three theatre/dance performances, a radio piece and a cinema piece, upon earning 250 credits of lecture and training courses, including placements and internships, and 570 hours of non-credit courses.
Thanks to the combination of an interdisciplinary approach with a theatrical one, graduates have the capacity to apply their knowledge in other intermediate practices to use art in various spheres of social life.
The programme orientation towards research and project activity, as well as the tendency to guide students towards pluralism of points of view in the contemporary description of the theatre form, makes the programme close in spirit to European and American programmes.
