Short presentation of the programme:

In the first two years, the instruction in the programme focuses on general education courses, two-semester courses in the main areas of study, such as Introduction to Psychology, Experimental Psychology, History of Psychology, Introduction to Cognitive Science, Psychology of Personality, etc. In the third and fourth years, the instruction comprises specialised lecture and training courses. In the fourth year, the programme offers three specialisations which lead to a professional qualification. The instruction in the programme complies to EuroPsy, the European qualification standard for psychologists.

Practical training courses:

Practical training includes work in the NBU specialised laboratories: the Laboratory of Experimental Psychology, Laboratory of Neurosciences, Laboratory of Decision and Behaviour Research, Laboratory of Child Development, Laboratory of Artificial Cognitive Systems; participation in the Summer School of Cognitive Science, participation in the Winter school and annual conference of the department, as well as internships in schools, hospitals, consulting agencies, human resources departments, foundations and social homes.

International mobility:

The programme provides an opportunity for international student mobility at universities in Poland, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy.

Graduate Student Competencies:

• knowledge in the various fields of modern psychology, studying the human psyche and interpersonal relationships;

• skills in empirical research data interpretation, application of appropriate methods for psychological diagnosis, prognostication and counselling, specialised psychological work in various areas of social practice.

Graduation:

Completion of studies in the bachelor's programme takes place by defending a bachelor's thesis or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits. In addition to the professional qualification provided, students can also obtain additional specialisation by enrolling in a minor programme.

The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.

Occupation and possible positions:

Graduates pursue careers as psychologists; psychology professionals in schools, healthcare facilities, human resources departments, research institutes.
