Political Sciences (in Bulgarian)
Short presentation of the programme:
In the first two years, the instruction in the programme focuses on general education courses, two-semester courses in the main areas of study, such as Political Science, General Sociology, Introduction to General Psychology, etc., as well as training courses in Political Science, International Relations and European Integration. In the third and fourth years, the instruction comprises three modules, i.e. European Politics, International Relations and Political Governance, which offer specialised courses and extra-curricular forms of study to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to work in state and government institutions and international organisations.

Practical training courses:
Practical training includes internships in regional and national state and non-governmental structures: town halls, municipalities, ministries, agencies, the NBU Centre for European, Refugee, Migration and Ethnic Studies, Jean Monnet Centre for European Policies, Centre for Social Practices, etc.
International mobility:
The programme provides an opportunity for international student mobility at universities in Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Cyprus, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Finland, etc.
Graduate Student Competencies:
• knowledge of the main concepts, categories and theoretical schools of political science, international relations and European integration;
• skills in working with the main approaches in the research of society and politics; in European, regional and international organisations and state institutions; organising political campaigns, developing political documents, strategies, programmes, platforms.
Graduation:
Completion of studies in the bachelor's programme takes place by defending a bachelor's thesis or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits. In addition to the professional qualification provided, students can also obtain additional specialisation by enrolling in a minor programme.
The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.
Occupation and possible positions:
Graduates pursue careers as political scientists; experts in European and international programmes and projects, specialists in European and international governmental and non-governmental organisations, foreign policy departments, in the state administration, political parties and research organisations.
