Social Work (in Bulgarian)
Short presentation of the programme:
The program is based on the conviction of its authors that the mission of social work in Bulgaria now is to increase social capital in Bulgarian communities and to change the understanding of the nature of representative democracy. The program equips future social work professionals with skills to assess, understand and transform relationships between people. The training in the program in the first two years covers general education, and in the third and fourth years it is organized into general and specialized courses teaching the theory and practice of social work.

Practical training courses:
Practical training includes practices and an internship at the Student Center for Social Work of the NBU and its partner organizations.
Graduate Student Competencies:
- knowledge about the contemporary context of social work, about human relations and their interrelationship with the development of the mind during the different periods of life, about the process of social exclusion and inclusion of individuals.
- skills to evaluate, understand and transform human relations; skills for partnering individuals from disadvantaged groups in the process of their social inclusion.
Graduation:
Completion of studies in the bachelor's program takes place by defending a bachelor's thesis or passing a state exam after covering the required number of credits. In addition to the professional qualification provided by the program, students can also obtain additional specialization by enrolling in a minor program - a second specialty.
The manner and conditions of completion are according to the "Standard for Completion of an Educational-Qualification Degree".

The graduates of the program are: Social worker; Social worker in a social service; Social worker for work with children Social worker in the "Social Protection" department; Social worker for work with family; Social worker for working with persons with deviant behavior; Social worker for work with disabled persons; Social worker for work with persons who have committed crimes.
