Biology: General and Applied (in Bulgarian)
Short presentation of the programme:
In the first two years, the programme focuses on general education courses, two-semester courses in the main areas of study, such as Introduction to Biology, Chemistry for Biologists, Physics and Astronomy, Mathematics, etc., as well as general education and specialised courses in the natural sciences. In the third and fourth years, the course of study includes lecture and training courses. In the fourth year, the programme offers two specialisations, i.e. General Biology and Microbiology, which lead to a professional qualification.
Major and professional qualification:
Specialisation:
General Biology

International mobility:
The programme provides an opportunity for international student mobility at universities in in France, Romania, Portugal and Poland.
Graduate Student Competencies:
• knowledge in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, microbiology, etc.;
• skills in working with classical and modern methods in biological laboratories.
Graduation:
Completion of studies in the bachelor's programme takes place by defending a bachelor's thesis or passing a state exam upon earning the required number of credits. In addition to the professional qualification provided, students can also obtain additional specialisation by enrolling in a minor programme.
The graduation process complies with the NBU Standard for Educational and Qualification Degree Completion.
