Short presentation of the programme:
In the first two years, the instruction in the programme focuses on general education courses, two-semester courses in the main areas of study, such as the Global World, Introduction to Law, Political Science, Introduction to Archaeology, as well as practical courses, such as Society and Security; International Security Organisations; Views in Security; Economics, Business, Security; Politics and Security Factors; Problems of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, etc. In the third and fourth years, the instruction comprises lecture and training courses.

Practical training courses:
The students' practical training includes internships in the National Assembly, the Council of Ministers, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rakovski Academy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Red Cross, other state and private security structures, regional and municipal administrations, etc. The programme includes an internship unique in its content, conducted according to the methodology of the faculty at the department and related to the practices of intelligence and counterintelligence.
International mobility:
The programme provides an opportunity for Erasmus + international student mobility at universities in Poland, Romania, Ireland, Italy, etc.
Graduate Student Competencies:
• knowledge in the field of institutional and legal systems of security in the public and private sector and the mechanisms of their functioning;
• competences in the field of analytical activity, forensic expertise, crisis management and public order protection;
• skills in organising activities to create and maintain security; leadership skills, teamwork skills aimed at protecting the interests of citizens and public interests.
Graduation:
Students are allowed to graduate upon completion of the course of study under the programme, earning 240 ECTS distributed according to the relevant programme scheme. Graduation takes place by defending a bachelor's thesis or taking a state exam. GPA above 4.50 allows students to choose either a thesis or a state exam, while GPA below 4.50 requires a student to take a state exam. Completed minor programmes are included in the diploma.
Occupation and possible positions:
Graduates pursue careers in state institutions of the security system and in private businesses as administrative experts, security managers, team leaders, experts in analytical units, experts in forensics, information security officers, etc.
