Анотация:

The course aims to prepare students to understand and apply a variety of methods for professional evaluation of policies and strategies, services, programs and projects in the field of social change and social support. The course introduces basic theoretical statements about social change and social trauma, as well as basic skills for designing monitoring and program evaluation by applying the methods of action research, theory of change, risk assessment and evaluation of effectiveness and impact. . The topics in the course are covered through illustrations of modern reform processes in the field of deinstitutionalization of child care, including education, mental health, prevention and overcoming of domestic violence and human trafficking, work on integration of minority communities and other areas of social work.

Students who complete the course will know:

• Differences between research, monitoring and program evaluation.

• Definitions of social trauma and social change.

• Designs of planning and evaluation of organizations, programs and projects in the social sphere.

• Modern international and national programs and strategies for reform in the social, educational and health spheres.

Students will be able to:

• Understand and analyze designs and results of conducted monitoring and evaluation of programs.

• Apply a variety of approaches and tools for monitoring and evaluation.

• Plan social and organizational changes, informed by scientifically based data.
