Анотация:

The course aims to introduce students to the basic theoretical paradigms related to ideologies, social theories and models of social policy. Based on this theoretical framework, students analyze different types of policies at national and international level related to the well-being of children and families and overcoming a number of contemporary social problems. The course introduces a modern understanding of the involvement of citizens and communities in the democratization of political decisions. Students discuss the existing challenges in this process and the place of social work in the engagement, inclusion, empowerment of various marginalized groups with a focus on children at risk and their families and communities.

Students who complete this course:

1) know:

• Know basic theoretical concepts and paradigms through which to evaluate care policies and programs in the field of support for children at risk and their families;

• Know the main challenges and areas of social problems in the context of national and international policies;

2) are able:

• To discuss, evaluate and participate competently in activities related to the development and implementation of social policies;

• To consider their own practices in social work with children and families in the broad context and dynamics of changes in the level of social policy.
