Анотация:

The main goal of the course is to give students theoretical knowledge and practical skills for working with families, clients of a social worker.

The course is aimed at upgrading students' knowledge regarding the legal and ethical aspects of social work when working with children and families. The course aims to:

- to make a practical connection between the normative base in the Bulgarian legislation regarding the children and the families;

- to study the gaps in the legal framework in the Bulgarian legislation regarding children and families and how they hinder the practice in social work;

- to acquire skills for application of ethical standards and regulations in the Bulgarian legislation to specific cases of practice.

Students who complete this course wil have:

1) knowledge:

- the theoretical basis of understandung the family structure and dyamic;

- the theoretical basis of the common legal framework for social work for families, both at EU and national level;

- in which normative acts the various issues of social work are regulated;

- What is the relationship between the legal and ethical aspects of social work issues.

2) skills:

- to apply adequate research and consultative tools to access and work with families;

- to apply the knowledge in their practice, dealing with the relevant normative acts;

- to have professional behavior adequate to the legal requirements;

- to use adequately the legal concepts in the field of social work for work with families.
