Анотация:

The internship aims to introduce the students to the current issues, policies and practices for working with migrant children and their families. In the course of their practical work, students will be able to explore materials related to European, Bulgarian and other international policies and practices for working with unaccompanied and accompanied children and adolescent migrants. Students will be able to meet with representatives of the leading institutions in the country managing refugee policies - the High Commissioner for Refugees, the National Refugee Agency, child protection departments, directors and specialists of services for working with migrant children and other local organizations and activists involved in supporting migrant children. The students will get acquainted on the spot with the work of the temporary accommodation places, the crisis centers and the services for protection and support of migrant children in Sofia and the country. At the end of their practical work, students will have to present a written analysis on a topic related to the policy or practice of supporting migrant children and through a short presentation and group discussion to discuss their work. Part of their written work will be self-reflection from direct experiences and experiences during the student's practice with the topic of migrant children.
