Management for Organisational Excellence (in Bulgarian) Distance Learning
Short presentation of the programme:
According to Edgeman, R. and Dahlgaard, J. (1999), Organisational Excellence (OE) is a holistic, systematic approach to an organisation's operations balancing the interests of stakeholders, thus increasing the likelihood of maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage and achieving long-term success through activities, both customer-focused and perfectly executed. OE is considered a higher phase in the development of total quality management (TQM) methods extremely popular in developed countries in the 1980s and 1990s. It is a key feature of management at the beginning of the 21st century, and its implementation brings serious benefits to the organisation's competitiveness. This approach is particularly popular in the USA and the European Union and is rapidly spreading throughout the world. It is the basis of the Lisbon Strategy for the competitiveness of the EU (2000) and undoubtedly becomes a main management practice attribute in Bulgaria as well. In their path to OE, countries use similar patterns. The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model is particularly popular. Organisational Management for Excellence Master’s Degree Programme was designed in accordance with the main guidelines adopted by the European Schoolnet Total Quality Management (EUN.TQM) and the new modern manager competence requirements (G. Hammel, 2007, The Economist Intelligence Unit (2008) and the British MSC Management and Leadership standards (MSC, 2012).
