Анотация:
This course focuses upon the better understanding of the nature of knowledge management and information. Knowledge and information are analysed with the help of both classic and modern theories. The interplay between knowledge management and information is studied as well in relation with organisational change.
The course aims at:
• To apply specific theoretical approaches used to understand effective knowledge management
• To gain experience with an assessment and development of knowledge.
• To apply the acquired knowledge of knowledge management and information in specific situations.

After completing successfully this course the students will:
1) know:
• How to use and manage information
• The information management process and how it impacts on decision making and organizational performance;
• The concept and importance of managing knowledge and information on the organization;
• The role of knowledge as an asset and their management;
• What are the key processes for managing knowledge necessary for innovation;
• How to develop a framework for creating a culture of knowledge management.
2) be able to:
• Explain the relationship between data, information, knowledge and wisdom;
• Explain the relationship between individual knowledge and organizational knowledge;
• Identify sources of information relevant to your needs;
• To analyze and use modeling techniques to identify knowledge within the organization;
• Evaluate current and potential assets of knowledge within the organization;
• Explain the contribution of knowledge as an asset of the organization;
• Provide an opportunity for knowledge sharing within the organization;
• To recommend improvements in the current framework of the organizations that enable knowledge sharing.

• English reading/ writing skills.
• Participation in course UYB803 Knowledge management.
