Анотация:
The course presents the students with the historical and cultural context of the Bulgarian philosophy. The birth of the modern Bulgarian philosophy dates to the XIX century following the Bulgarian National Revival and the constitution of the modern Bulgarian state. The historical context, the influence of various philosophical ideas and perspectives in the late XIX and the following XX centuries shape the “Philosophy” in Bulgaria. The course introduces the students to the different perspectives and outcomes in the philosophical tradition in Bulgaria. The students will get acquainted with some of the key Bulgarian philosophers (past and contemporary) and their works in different fields, schools and theories in Philosophy

Successful graduates of the course students:
1) know:
• Basic facts about the history of Bulgarian philosophy.
• How philosophical ideas get translated in cultures foreign to modern philosophy.
• Main aspects of contemporary philosophy in Bulgaria.

• Recognise the transition of philosophical ideas in Bulgaria.
• Evaluate the different aspects of Bulgarian philosophy.
• Draw analogies to other national philosophical cultures.
