The course includes

• Theoretical aspects;

• Practical activities (in workshop mode), requiring active participation on the part of the students, as well as independent study activities based on the topics covered and participation in the respective parts of the course.

The course aims to:

• acquaint students with the basic principles and the main aspects of testing in language teaching;

• to raise their awareness about the role of testing in language teaching and learning;

• to provide real-life language testing examples;

• to prepare the students for independent language test analysis.

Having successfully completed the course, students are expected to:

• be familiar with the language testing principles in order to apply them in the classroom;

• be able to analyse test tasks/ tests in correspondence with the theoretical principles.

Students should have completed or should have enrolled in and be studying the required language teaching courses.
