The course aims to:

• Acquaint students with the way messages should be adapted across different media;

• Teach students to analyse their audience and the communication channel they choose in order to determine the style they will adopt;

• Help students experience the writing format both in traditional media such as press releases, advertising, news, as well as the new media such as social media;

• Discuss basic media writing techniques along with writing on the web (tweets, stories, use of multimedia, blogs).

Описание на курса:


Students who have graduated the course will be able to:

• Analyse the audience and the communication channel used in a particular piece of writing;

• Identify stylistic differences according to the target audience and the media of writing;

• Choose an appropriate writing style according to the above criteria;

• Produce, with help of different writing projects, a variety of texts typically featured in both the traditional media and the new online media.

Предварителни изисквания:
Students should have a sufficiently high command of the English language (B2/C1 according to the Common European Framework), and an interest in being exposed to different writing styles according to the chose media.
