Компетенции:

Upon successful completion of the course students

1. Will be able to:

• use research and documentation means, both computerised and traditional and CAT (Computer Assisted translation) technologies, to translate specialist written texts of different types in paper, electronic and multimedia formats between Italian and at least two foreign languages;

• produce coherent and complex written texts in two foreign languages;

• implement terminological and terminographical skills, and developing and adapting written texts in inter-linguistic contact situations.

• to conceive, manage and evaluate translation and language adaptation projects where different operational skills are distributed between several people, also taking into account deontological aspects related to the profession.

• to independently develop further knowledge and higher level skills starting from both direct and mediated exposure to the relevant experiential data, and to organise and manage an individual guided research project.

• Bulgarian, Russian or English as their mother tongue (Language A)

• B2 level of proficiency or above in their Language B (first foreign language)

Средства за оценяване:

Portfolio consisting of 2 pieces of writing:

1. A research paper written during the Semester focusing on a specific issue in consecutive interpreting. The research paper may be a new piece of work, or students may choose to revise and expand upon a paper written for another course. Students will also include in the portfolio a statement of the research problem and an annotated bibliography of at least ten sources, both of which will be written during the planning and drafting stages of the research paper.

2. A 3-5 page reflective essay, in which the student explains where and how the work contained in the portfolio demonstrates the skills-based and content-based learning outcomes of the course.
