Анотация:
The course introduces the main concepts and tools of critical thinking. Main aim of the course is to offer basic understanding of classic and contemporary views on the structure and scope of logic, critical thinking and argumentation and the ways of their implementation in speeches and texts. It focuses on the problems of logical analysis and its application in the understanding and construction of arguments in different relevant contexts form everyday reasoning to scientific discourse and philosophy.

After completing successfully this course the students will:
1) know:
- The main concepts and traditions in the history of logic and critical thinking.
- The elements of argumentation and their place in the wider structure of texts
2) are capable of:
- Understanding the logical aspects of thinking and argumentation
- Applying critical thinking skills and tools
- Participating in debates by evaluating the logical structure of arguments and creating arguments
