MHRE324D Project: Project Development


This project extracurricular course on Project Development aims to build upon the foundational knowledge acquired in the main curriculum course on Project Management. Students will gain hands-on experience in developing and executing projects, emphasising practical skills and real-world applications. By the end of the course, students should be able to initiate, plan, execute, and close projects effectively, leveraging advanced project management techniques and tools.

By the end of this course, students will be proficient in advanced project planning, stakeholder engagement, and innovative problem-solving. They will have the practical skills needed to lead and manage projects effectively, ensuring successful completion and delivering value to stakeholders.

  1. Advanced Project Planning and Scheduling Aim: Enhance students' skills in creating detailed project plans and schedules using advanced tools and techniques. What Students Should Know and Be Able to Do: Develop comprehensive project plans with clear objectives, milestones, and deliverables. Utilize project management software for effective scheduling and resource allocation. Identify potential risks and create mitigation strategies. Collaborate with team members to refine project timelines and responsibilities.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Aim: Equip students with strategies to engage stakeholders and communicate project progress effectively. What Students Should Know and Be Able to Do: Identify key stakeholders and their influence on project outcomes. Develop stakeholder engagement plans and communication strategies. Utilize communication tools and techniques to ensure transparency and alignment. Address stakeholder concerns and feedback constructively to drive project success.
  3. Innovation and Problem-Solving in Project Development Aim: Foster creative thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges and drive project innovation.
