COURSE OUTLINE AND OBJECTIVES
The extracurricular course will consist in introducing Procurement Competencies in a global environment at the IBM Premises.
Nowadays procurement is being more and more considered as a crucial tool within global corporations. It plays pivotal role in the success of global players that old-fashioned managers never could imagine. IBM procurement experts will exemplify why procurement functions have risen to such significance in highly competitive global environments and how a company such as IBM can strategize to mitigate specific risks.
The students will have the opportunity to visit the IBM Procurement Center in Sofia, for half-day or full-day events covering various topics of the course.
During practice-oriented consultations (online and face-to-face) lecturers communicate with the course participants using:
Email and Viber
Moodle (as a virtual blackboard)
Google Docs (consulting students to elaborate and synchronize working sheets and case analyses).
Dropbox and Google Drive (online platforms to share files < 2 GB).

Successfully graduated students:
1) know:
How procurement competencies and skills are to be applied successfully within IT service environment
The application of actual procurement strategies within the IBM Procurement Center
2) can:
Apply relevant strategic skills within Procurement Centers of global players.
Generate successfully procurement solutions in close-to-real cases.
