The MA Programme in Translation and Interpreting prepares professionals in the field of translation and multilingual communication who are proficient in one or two foreign languages and have the skills to engage in constructive dialogue in intercultural and international contexts. Students develop competences in different modalities and genres of translation and interpreting and improve their skills in organising business negotiations and conferences, which helps them to adapt quickly to the labour market. The programme offers innovative courses such as machine translation and language localisation, audio-visual translation, subtitling and audio transcribing for the deaf and hard of hearing and sign language interpreting. Students acquire research skills, both to build research projects and to apply the results for professional tasks.

The program offers the opportunity to study and obtain a master’s degree in translation and interpreting from and into the following languages: Bulgarian, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Arabic and Russian. The programme is open to undergraduates from both philological and other fields of knowledge.
