This course is presenting various alternative paradigms and theories of human memory and involves students in active learning practices, including critical reading, discussion, experimental design, and group project work.

Course Description:

Competencies:

Students who complete this course:

1) will know:

• Knowledge of alternative paradigms and theories of human memory;

• Basic concepts of the organization and processes in human memory;

• Basic knowledge about the brain mechanisms and development of memory.

2) will be able to:

• Critically read, understand and question the literature on memory;

• Design experiments to test theories of memory;

• Apply the knowledge about memory in various domains, such as educational practices, court rooms, advertising, rehabilitation.


Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge in brain organization and cognitive processes and methods of experimental psychology.
