Анотация:

This course aims at developing further students’ skills for oral and written communication in English on topics and assignments related to their undergraduate study of psychology, including covering basic terminology in different branches of psychology, finding and using sources of academic literature, guidelines for different genres of academic writing, with a special focus on typical assignments in the Bachelor program in psychology at NBU, for example, critical reaction, critical review, experimental report, empirical project description, Bachelor thesis. In addition, we will practice oral presentation skills such as discussions, brief topic-focused talks, poster presentations, etc. The course has a hands-on approach to writing and presentation and it requires an open attitude and a readiness to meet weekly assignment deadlines.

Компетенции:

1)Students will learn basic terminology, the general principles of academic writing and oral presentation, genre differences and structure of critical reviews, experimental reports, poster presentations.

2)Students will be able to make brief focused oral presentations and write critical reviews, experimental reports, etc.
