Анотация:
This course is introducing the interdisciplinary field of cognitive science and its participating disciplines: psychology, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, linguistics, philosophy, anthropology, and their methodologies. It also gives basic knowledge about the cognitive processes, such as memory, thinking, perception, learning, language, and their interaction with human emotions. The course discusses various alternative paradigms and theories and presents experimental findings. It involves students in active learning practices, including critical reading, discussion, and designing experiments.

Успешно завършилите курса студенти:
1) знаят/know:
• Knowledge of the participating disciplines and their methodologies
• Knowledge of alternative paradigms and theories of human cognition
• Basic concepts of cognitive science
• Knowledge of basic experimental findings about human cognition
2) могат/can:
• Critically read, understand and question the literature on cognitive science
• Design experiments to test theories of human cognition
• Apply the acquired knowledge in practice: in domains such as Information Technologies and Human-Computer Interaction, Economics, Education, Legal system, Advertising, Clinics, etc.
