GENB049 Мозък и поведение

Анотация:

The Course GENB049 Brain and behavior acquaints the students with the structure and functions of the various brain structures in humans. The major development stages of this important regulatory organ are presented as well as the research methods of the separate brain functions. The link between brain activity and the realization of psychic process is studied. As an illustration of this interdependency, some major pathological states are also reviewed, both on the neurological level (motor, sensor, vegetative) as well as psychic (apraxia, agnosia, aphasia, apathy-abulia syndrome, etc.).

The structure and functioning of endocrine system as a second regulatory and closely connected with the nervous system component of the human body and human behavior is also presented. The most common disorders in human development are reviewed, caused by injuries of the separate endocrine glands

Описание на курса:

Компетенции:

The students who have successfully completed the course:

1) know:

The structure of the major elements of the human brain and the endocrine system.

The mechanisms of functioning of these structures as well as the changes in human capabilities and behavior caused by their pathologic changes. Brain and brain processes research methods.

2) Can:

The course is too theoretical and does not assume the mastering of any practical skills.
