Анотация:
АNNOTATION AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
The course introduces the field of natural and artificial cognitive systems. It covers the main findings of cognitive science about natural cognitive systems and the ways to use them in modeling and designing artificial cognitive systems. The latter is based on two perspectives – how to incorporate in artificial cognitive systems efficient mechanisms from natural cognitive systems and how to optimize the interaction of the two.
Objectives:
? to acquaint with basic findings of cognitive science
? to acquaint with the main approaches to modeling cognitive systems
? to give hand on experience in modeling simple cognitive systems.

1) know:
• Basics of cognitive science findings and models
• The main approaches to modeling cognitive systems
• Basic algorithms in cognitive modeling and how to apply them
• Applications of cognitive systems
2) be able to:
• Understand and report paper in cognitive systems research
• Build simple cognitive systems using simulations software and environments
• Take into account human factors in engineering
