Анотация:
COURSE ANNOTATION AND AIMS:
The course presents in depth environmental policies of the the EU by addressing the European consensus on environmental issues, underlying principles, philosophy, goals and vision.
The goal of the course is to create awareness on the development of environmental policies by member states, businesses and the public through providing comprehensive and up-to date information on the topic. The course will introduce students to the specific national context and key challenges and solutions.

After completing successfully this course the students will:
1) know:
o Key concepts in this topic
o Key areas of sustainable development policies.
o Basic tools to solve existing and prevent the emergence of new, more serious problems.
2) be capable of:
o Analyze and evaluate specific projects within the overall framework of development policies of the EU
3) professional development, in accordance with the National Classification of professions and occupations in Bulgaria:
o Specialists and experts at average level in international organizations - UN, Council of Europe, OCCE, NATO.
o Experts in the EU institutions (European Commission and European Parliament).
o Experts and consultants in the international NGOs.
o Professionals with analytical and control functions in the administration
